Class 2 VS Class II Power Supply 2024-10-28

When purchase ac dc power supplies, confusion often exists about the difference between Class 2 and Class II rated power supplies.

Class 2 mean that the output power capabilities of dimmable and non-dimmable power supplies, meet the NEC (National Electric Code) regulation requirements for over current protection.

Class II mean that switching power supply`s internal construction and electrical insulation, the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) designator of protection.

KEYSUN is glad to inform you that our Class 2 power supplies from Dimmable Driver, Non Dimmable Driver, Class 2 Power Supply, AC DC Adapter and Battery Charger (wall mount type, desktop type) the whole power supply series can providing complete 5Volt to 48Volt output voltage models, the limited output current and power circuits shall not have loads that draw more than 5 Amp and 100 Watt. The design is approved for Class 2 power unit (UL 1310 and UL 8750 safety standard). The class 2 power supplies are believed to be reduce the risk of fire initiation and prevent electric shock, which allows for lower cost wiring installation methods to be accepted. Because of the limitations, class 2 power supplies are suited for electrical system and led lighting fixtures.
